Photo Post: Garden State Railway Club, Inc.

Last night I hung out for over an hour with the members of the Garden State Model Railway Club in North Haledon. It's been around for over 50 years now. The men I met last night truly let their passion for the railroad shine through in this miniature world they've created...

Isn't this amazing? The landscapes were handmade by Club members (the shrubbery was created using, if you can believe it, insulation from ceiling tiles) and the trains are all controlled by computers. Club president Tony Tofani even let me play conductor and run one of the trains while I was there; it was cool being able to blow the whistle and the horn and watch the train make its way through the miniature world these men had created.
