Yesterday I had to work the closing shift at Target from 4:30 until 10:00 PM, but that certainly didn't stop me from having a GREAT Christmas Eve!
First, Don stopped by in the early afternoon so we could exchange gifts. He and his wife, Laura, bought me two custom-made pin-back buttons from Zazzle.com featuring original artwork of Laura's. I had already purchased two of Laura's custom buttons a couple of weeks ago, so now I have a collection of four (now I just need to find the perfect way to show them off)!
The second reason Christmas Eve was great was because I chose to dress up a little bit for work: Not only did I wear my brand new jingle bell earrings that I bought at Kohl's on Wednesday, but I'd also given myself a manicure earlier in the day using this great sparkly blue polish and a topcoat of silver glitter polish that I'd bought at Five Below on Thursday.
There's a saying that "the third time's the charm," and that definitely applies here! The third reason why this was a great Christmas Eve was because I got a cool Christmas gift from the grab bag at work - a cool bath & body set with a loofa, body wash, body lotion and body spray in a nice coconut scent. I'd been dying to know who had chosen my name, and so I was happy to discover that that this really nice girl named Jay Jay was my Secret Santa! I was so glad that it was someone I've actually been getting to know! Jay Jay is a lot younger than me and is always smiling, and is one of the people I'm going to miss when my job at Target is over.
So I had a pretty darn good Christmas Eve! Stay tuned for part two: Christmas Day! :)
