Winning Streak

I'm not the bragging type, but I have to admit that 2011 is definitely a lucky year for me in regard to winning books because yesterday I won *another* blog giveaway! That brings me up to a grand total of four book wins this year!

This newest book win comes thanks to YA authors Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler, whose collaborative effort The Future of Us comes out *tomorrow*. I follow Jay's blog, and every Friday for the last thirteen weeks he and Carolyn have been giving away an advanced reader's copy of The Future of Us along with other various goodies that somehow relate to the book; all us blog readers had to do to enter to win was answer a question or two in the comments section.

But for this thirteenth and final giveaway, everything was different. Instead of asking about the past or the future, the question was about the present (What are you most thankful for?) and the "other various goodies" were signed copies of Jay and Carolyn's prior novels - a grand total of seven books and eight autographs. As I've done for all but one of these weekly giveaways, I submitted my answer to the question (that I was "thankful for all of the writing I've been able to do [and have published] this past year and all of the wonderful people I've been able to meet and network with") and promptly forgot all about it. Until yesterday, of course! So now I've got seven autographed books that will be arriving within the next two weeks - an early Christmas present, if you will - which means I'll have to make some more room on my nightstand now! :)

It sure is a good thing that I love reading! :)
