Kitchen Innovation

I am the first to admit that I don't cook. It's not that I don't like to, but I've never really tried. My mother hates cooking, so meals at our house are pretty...well, simple. Not that I'm complaining, because it's what I've been raised on.

Not that I haven't had the urge to learn, of course. I have had surges of creativity where food is concerned. When I was little, my grandmother says that I used to help her cook; I do recall memories of me squishing raw chop meat in between my fingers, whether for meatballs or helping her mold a meatloaf. And as an adult, every once in awhile I'll come up with an interesting way to combine leftovers or whatnot. Like tonight.

Tonight I created my own version of pasta salad using leftover cooked elbow macaroni, banana peppers (they're not sweet, despite the name), and ranch flavored salad dressing. And I must admit, it tasted really good. My tummy was very happy after that creative little snack!

...and considering how good that creative little snack was, I'll share my "recipe" with you! :)

Sabi's Super Pasta Salad

Ingredients (based on a single serving):

- 1/2 cup cooked and cooled elbow pasta

- 1 pepper, any variety, sliced into small pieces

- 1/2 cup Ranch dressing

Directions:

1. Combine pasta, pepper slices, and Ranch dressing in a bowl.

2. Mix thoroughly until pasta and pepper is coated in dressing.

3. Eat and enjoy!

But if you try this and don't like it, please don't blame me... ;)
